Alexander Magruder, son of Samuel Magruder and Sarah Beall, was born about 1706 in Montgomery County, MD and died about May 12, 1751 in Prince Georges County, MD. He married Anne Wade, daughter of Robert Wade and Elizabeth Sprigg, in 1720. She was born in 1691 and died in 1751 at the age of 60.

| Shared note | Ninian Beall was one of the founders of Georgetown, and built Dunbarton Oaks. Side-Lights on Maryland History states, "Although Ninian Beall is said to have come from Fifeshire, my own researches incline to the Stirlinshire idea, in which was situated the Parish of St. Ninian." It further adds that Ninian fought against Oliver Cromwell's army in the battle of Dunbar, which led to a rout of the Scots, and probably occasioned Ninian's emigration to Maryland. A part of the land Ninian left to his son George became Georgetown. |
