| Shared note | He was a schoolteacher in Annapolis. In May 1759 he denied he intended to resign teaching at the Annapolis School, but in December 1759 he advertised that he would have a school at his dwelling plantation near the head of South River. Youths could board with John Wilmot, Jr., who lived within a half mile. There is a record of John Wilmot Jr. buying 100 acres of Wilmot's Choice in March 1709, and of John Wilmot Sr. buying 5 acres in March 1715. Perhaps the John Wilmot who was the school teacher was in fact a Jr. |
