| Shared note | Horatio Jones Brewer lists John Wilmot as a descendent of John Wilmot, who immigrated to the Annapolis area in 1672. No documentation exists to support this. Horatio wrote; "John Wilmot came in 1672. His homestead was Wilmot's Range, 200 acres in Anne Arundel County." Robert Harry McIntire quotes the following in his Annapolis Maryland Families: "John Wilmot, Sr. born about 1700; Annapolis, teacher; died 1764; married February 1, 1722, Hannah Mayo (She was a widow, maiden name of Searson.) His only son was John Wilmot, Jr., born 7 July 1726 who had sons John III and Searson Wilmot.
