Note

Catherine was of a stern nature.

She was a midwife in the Tungamah/Pelluebla district, being dedicated to her calling and would travel to homes by horse in any weather. It was not unusual for Catherine to stay with the mother for a few days after the birth, nursing the mother and child, feeding the other family members and keeping house. She was also an excellent seamstress.
