He was evidently one of the most prominent men of Killingworth, holding the office of constable, as mentioned in the Colonial Records, Vol.2, page 525, under date of 1669, when he made return of the freemen of the town, the constables being at that time the advisers of the governor in the affairs of their respective town and the local representatives of his authority. !The Kelsey Genealogy, Mar. 2nd, Oct 30,1719, Silence Wilcox.
