He came to Nantucket from the vineyard, having half a share of land on the Island of Nantucket granted him, to act in the capacity of a shoemaker. He is said to have represented the county in the Gen. Court. He died in Boston in 1716, aged 68 yrs; 6 mo, and his widow, Sarah, d. at Nantucket, Dec. 19, 1729.
