| Shared note | Wangaratta Chronicle, Wednesday, 26/08/1925 Mrs CATHERINE COTTER. A highly respected resident of the Glenrowan district, in the person of Mrs Catherine COTTER, died on Sunday after an illness extending over a few weeks. Born at Mansfield 58 years ago, the late Mrs COTTER had resided at Glenrowan for over 30 years. Her husband, the late Mr James H COTTER, conducted farming operations there, and died some years ago. Of late years she made her home with her son John, who managed the farm, and also acquired other land in the vicinity. Two sons, John and James, served at the war, and both were wounded. Members of the family are James and Harry (Railway Department), John (Glenrowan), Patrick (Wangaratta), Clarence (Springhurst), Catherine (Mrs HALEY), Florrie (Mrs J GREEN), Mary (Mrs DELANEY), Lena (Mrs HALEY) and Miss Evelyn (Glenrowan). The funeral took place to the Wangaratta cemetery on Monday afternoon, Rev Father BYRNE reading the burial service. The coffin bearers were Messrs James, Harry, John, Patrick and Clarence COTTER and HALEY. The arrangements were in charge of Messrs J J HANDLEY and Son. |
