BIOGRAPHY Dellores Fritter: "[Harriet and Jacob Whetstone] traveled the Oregon trail from Cedar Township, Van Buren Co., IA to Oregon, arriving in Washington County on December 1, 1852. He settled his donation land claim of 320 acres in Washington County on August 25, 1855. Harriet left him and married Thomas Maus... Jacob's son [my ancestor] Thomas was appointed administrator of his estate, which was not settled until April 1972. His will was probated in the Washington County Court House, and is on file at Hillsboro, OR."
