    1. Martha Whitney, daughter of William Whitney and Martha Pierce, was born on April 4, 1716 in Weston, Middlesex, MA. She married Timothy Mossman on February 26, 1735 in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA. He was born in 1710 in Sudbury, Massachusetts and died on September 5, 1801 at the age of 91.

At the time of the probate of the estate of father William Whitney in 1720, Martha Whitney, widow, was appointed guardian of the five minor children of her late husband, vizt. William, in his 14th year, Judith, in her 12th year, Amity, in her 8th year, Martha, in her 5th year, and Samuel, in his 2nd year, and posted bond with Jacob Pierce, husbandman, of Weston, as surety.

She owned the covenant. Intent to marry seemingly published in Watertown on 6 Jan 1734/5, in Weston on 20 Jan 1734/5, and the marriage was in Sudbury 26 Feb 1734/5. She was baptized immediately before all this, on 29 Dec 1734 as an adult, at which time she was also taken into the church (p. 417, VR).
