Shared note

In 1776 Amos was a captain in the 22nd Regiment with the Continental Army. He was taken prisoner in New York by the British and confined in a prison ship. He died in captivity and was buried at Tolland. His death was considered by all who knew him as a great loss. He was a man of intellect and great decision and firmness, and was thought that he could have progressed to a very superior grade had he survived. source: Mark
