    1. Samuel Whitney, son of Abner Whitney and Sarah Hilton, was born in 1759 in Lunenburg, Worcester, MA and died on September 25, 1835 at the age of 76. He married Hannah Thompson on March 24, 1781 in Gorham, Cumberland, ME. She was born in 1760 in Of Buxton, Cumberland, ME and died in 1814 at the age of 54.

    1. Stephen Whitney, son of Samuel Whitney and Hannah Thompson, was born on May 4, 1784 in Falmouth, ME and died on December 7, 1858 in Salem, ME at the age of 74.

    2. William Whitney, son of Samuel Whitney and Hannah Thompson, was born on July 25, 1786 in Falmouth, Maine and died on May 24, 1852 in Limestone, Maine at the age of 65.

    3. Dorcas Whitney, daughter of Samuel Whitney and Hannah Thompson, was born on September 16, 1794 and died on July 11, 1870 in Freeman, ME at the age of 75.

    4. Sarah Whitney, daughter of Samuel Whitney and Hannah Thompson, was born on May 30, 1797 and died on August 16, 1868 in Freeman, ME at the age of 71.

    5. Ephraim Whitney, son of Samuel Whitney and Hannah Thompson, was born on September 22, 1799 in Falmouth, Maine and died on April 6, 1879 in Santa Cruz, CA at the age of 79.

Shared note

Revolutionary War soldier - Served in Bagaduce Expedition, with brother Uriel, under Capt. Alexander McLellan, Gorham company, Col. Jonathan Mitchell's Cumberland County Regiment, June 1779.[6] He was in the Revolutiony Army, and was granted a pension when he was 78 years of age.[1]

He appears in Capt. Britton's List of First Families in Otisfield, (ME) as having arrived 3 Sep 1780.[7]

Recorded as having lived in Falmouth, Readfield and Farrington ME.[1] However, there wasn't a town or township by the name of Farrington in ME.[8], and he was not found in either Farmingdale or Farmington records.

In 1790 Census in Falmouth, ME , head of household male, 4 males under16 and one female over sixteen, no other residents present. Himself, sons: Samuel [8yrs], Stephen [6yrs], William [4yrs], and Barzelia[2yrs].
