  1. Generation 1
    1. Ezra Whitney, son of Oliver Whitney and Dorcas Forbush, was born on March 29, 1763 in Upton, Worcester, MA and died on March 10, 1847 in Upton, Worcester, MA at the age of 83.

Shared note

The birth of this child to this couple on the date given in the Upton Vital Records (29 Mar 1793) is extremely unlikely, although it does so appear in the Upton, MA, Vital Records. Oliver would have been 69 years old and Dorcas 67. One explanation could be that the record was mistranscribed and should read 1763. This is also suggested by the fact that there is a marriage for an Ezra Whitney and a Mary Forbush in Upton in 1784. On that basis alone, the date has been placed in 1763, which is a logical spot in the sequence of children, the older sibling having been born three years earlier and the younger sibling four years later. Thus, this birth in 1763 fills in a seven year gap.
