Hannah Whitney, daughter of George Whitney and Sarah Couzens, was born on April 12, 1748 in Holliston, Middlesex, MA.
Shared note | [Summary from Robert Ward's listing of probate and guardianship records -AEG] After her father died in 1752, she was under the care of her mother, Sarah Couzens Whitney, who then died herself about Feb 1756. At that time James Haven of Framingham was appointed guardian of all three children (Isaac, Hannah and Marcy). At age 14 Hannah chose James Haven Jr. as guardian and he was so appointed by the court 14 Jun 1762 and posted bond, with John Wilson, yeoman of Framingham, and Joseph Cozens of Holliston, husbandman, as sureties. This last person seems to be a member of her deceased mother's family. Provided by: Allan Green [email protected] |
