| Shared note | (Research):William Pethybridge selected land at Parkes Plains (Timmering) where he and Ellen raised their family. Ellens brother Alfred and Williams brothers Joseph and Richard also selected land in that area. n 1905 William Pethybridge with his Sons Samuel, John, Joseph and Rae selected land at Rushy Pool, 20 miles east of Narrogin in Western Australia. William then returned to Victoria to finalise the sale of his property, leaving his three sons to carry on the clearing. He returned to Western Australia with his wife Ellen and daughter Hannah in about 1907. Samuel Pethybridge returned to Victoria soon after arriving in Western Australia, apparently not impressed, and then ventured to New Zealand. Hannah Jane married Walter Lock of Narrogin and they farmed in the district of Narrogin Valley. John Pethybridge took up land next to his fathers property. He married Eiizabeth Flemming and there were no children from this marriage. Joseph Stanley Pethybridge never married and was killed in the Creat War, Rae Pethybridge married May ONeill and they farmed the original property that was selected in 1905. They had five children and the property is still in this family today. Nothing is known of Elizabeth Emma and William Thomas, although the) are listed on Ellen Pethybridges Death Certificate as aged 8 and 51 respectively. |
