Shared note

(Research):Charles McCluhan first came to light when I was examining the 1850 census records at Carnegie Mellon. He was living in Beaver County, Slippery Rock township on a farm with John McCluhan and Leah (Hogue) McCluhan. At this point I suspect that he is John McCluhans father. Interesting to Note that Eleanor was born in PA. This might indicate that Charles came to the US at least twenty to thirty years prior to that. Will need to try following him. Did he go to Illinois? Next step would be to take a look at the 1840 & 1830 data. Also check 1860 to see if he is still in Beaver County at age 62

Note in McCluhan family bible indicates Charles came to the US in 1812. Notes also indicate that he did go to Illinois with John & Leah. No mention of Rebecca
