Shared note | Data gleaned from A. Whitney Brown of the WRG - as follows: The records which follow were copied Dec 29 1939 by Harry D. and Bertha Chapman for (the) General Richardson chapter DAR, Pontiac, Mich. from the 'Connecticut Hill Cemetery' in the township of Newfield, Tompkins County, NY. This cemetery is surrounded by a vast tract of land known as the CT. Hill State Game Refuge. This plot, once sacred to the memory of these pioneer people, is now filled with bramble and trampled by deer. A great many of the headstones are down or broken and in a few years all inscriptions will be obliterated. Mute evidence of the march of Time." Among these inscriptions: Ezra Whitney, d.
