Shared note

N.S.W. BDM Registration No. 1884/30227 Elsie Stephens Chegwidden raised Cecil James Chegwidden who was the son of her older sister Una Jane and Alfred James Selwood her husband. The facts mentioned here were not found out till August 1999. We always thought Dad (Cecil James Selwood/Chegwidden) was illegitimate as he was born before the marriage of Alfred James Selwood and Elsie Stephens Chegwidden but upon finding the birth certificate details it shocked us to find out that the mother was Una J. Chegwidden. We often wonder how Dad (Cecil) felt when he found out as he was in his 60's and applying for the Aged Pension.
