Note | uneral services will be held at the Lester Laun home at Elkhart Lake Thursday for Mrs. Louis Laun, 84, a well-known resident of the village. Burial will be at St. John's cemetery. Mrs. Laun died early Saturday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. Mabry Schwarz, in Los Altos, California. She had been in failing health for a number of months. Mrs. Laun, who had been spending the winter months in California for the past 27 years, was the widow of the founder of the former Kiel Furniture Co., of Milwaukee and Kiel, and the Elkhart Moraine Sand and Gravel Co. She was born Adele Gutheil in Chilton on October 6, 1867. Her parents were Ferdinand and Marie Hayssen Gutheil. She was married to Louis Laun of Elkhart Lake on Oct. 20, 1891. Mr. Laun; a daughter, Elda; a son, Herbert, and a brother, Arthur, preceded her in death. Surviving are the daughter, Viola, and three sons, Lester of Elkhart Lake, Arthur of Sheboygan, and Harold of Chicago, and seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. George Brickbauer of New Holstein, Mrs. Richard Gove of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Albert Bingenheimer of Spokane, Wash. |
